Ester Pérez
Dancer
Ester Pérez was born in Valencia and started her dance training there in 1999 at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza. She has won first and second prize several times at the International Dance Competition Ciudad De Ribarroja Del Túria. After graduating in 2009, Pérez started her career at Theater Dortmund, where she danced in works by Xin Peng Wang, William Forsythe and George Balanchine, among others. In 2012 she started dancing at Opernhaus Zürich, under the direction of Christian Spuck, after which she was offered a contract with the Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballett in 2015. With these two companies she has danced in creations by Ohad Naharin, Jiří Kylián, Goyo Montero, Jeroen Verbruggen and Hans van Manen, among others. She joined Opera Ballet Vlaanderen from the 2019-2020 season. At OBV she has danced various works by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Le Sacre du printemps by Pina Bausch, Half Life by Sharon Eyal and the creations Futur proche by Jan Martens, Extant by Jermaine Maurice Spivey and New Ballet mécanique by Richard Siegal.
