Mikhail Kit
The Russian bass Mikhail Kit is one of his home country’s most celebrated singers. Last year he was even awarded a medal for ‘services to the homeland’. Mikhail has been linked to the Mariinsky Theater since 1986, where he has sung all the great bass parts: Boris Godunov (Boris Godunov), Gremin (Eugene Onegin) and Kochubei (Mazeppa), as well as Mephistopheles (Faust), Iago (Otello) and Wotan (Das Rheingold). With the Mariinsky he has toured the whole world, performing at the Teatro alla Scala, La Fenice and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He can be heard on the Philips Classics recordings of Boris Godunov, War and Peace, The Fiery Angel and Prince Igor.
