In a series of 10 chamber concerts, you get the chance to see the musicians and singers from Opera Ballet Vlaanderen’s Symphony Orchestra and Chorus shine as soloists. They usually stir our emotions from the orchestra pit or in a production on the stage, but in these small and larger chamber and choral settings you can really discover their range of talent.
The programme features highlights from the rich chamber repertoire, such as Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet or Schubert’s 2nd Piano Trio. But forgotten instrumental and vocal gems and lesser-played works, such as Shostakovich’s From Jewish Folk Poetry, are also given a new lease of life. Specific orchestral groups are highlighted and the Chorus and Children’s Chorus also show, in challenging repertoire, what they have to offer.
