Claudio Cangialosi was born in Partinico (Sicily) in 1986 and received his dance training at the ballet school of the Accademia d’Arti e Mestieri del Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In 2006, he joined the corps de ballet of the Semperoper Ballett Dresden, where he got promoted to coryphée one year later. In 2010, he became a second soloist and in 2013 he was promoted to first soloist at the same company. Claudio has worked with many choreographers, including William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, John Neumeier and Mats Ek. He has also won several awards, such as the Critic’s Choice ‘Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer’ Award for his work in The World According to Us (2009) by David Dawson, as well as the ‘SIAE Prize for Outstanding Choreographer’ for With(in) (2012), a self-made piece. He joined the Royal Ballet of Flanders in 2016 as a soloist.
