Two orchestras, one large opera chorus, a panoply of soloists, 2 conductors, the entire corps de ballet, a large stage, a small army of technicians and an ever-growing field of folding chairs: for the kick-off of the classical music season in Antwerp, they pull out all the stops.

Klassiek in de stad is therefore not just a festival, it's also a big celebration that consistently draws over 10,000 visitors. During the two-day festival, we introduce a highly diverse public to a repertoire that in the past was generally kept hidden away behind the stately facades of opera houses and concert halls. How classical became a crowdpleaser and a part of the urban pulse of the city.
