Lieder and piano music by Erich Wolfgang Korngold & Alban Berg

From musical wunderkind to Hollywood legend – such was the path in life of Erich Wolfgang Korngold. Salon Korngold immerses you in the little-known, late-romantic lieder of the Austrian composer, but also focuses on his tremendously popular Die tote Stadt and Korngold's American muse in the comedy The Silent Serenade. Soprano Cathy Van Roy and pianist Lucas Blondeel bring the creator of Das Wunder der Heliane into a dialogue with his progressive contemporary and countryman Alban Berg, whose head-spinning Piano sonata, opus 1 will be performed – a turning point between late romantic and new music.
