After the wild succes of their digital 'nanodance' in Kiss & Cry and Cold Blood, the couple Jaco Van Dormael and Michèle Anne De Mey continues their winning streak by experimenting with a new stage language in Amor
Amor is a dance in the netherworld between life and death. Its basis is the near-death experience of choreographer and dancer Michèle Anne De Mey. Together with film-maker Jaco Van Dormael she experiments with a new theatrical language. Add to that the music of, among others, Purcell, Vivaldi and Biber by the Holland Baroque and you enter a whole new world. The backdrop of Ghent Opera becomes the symbolic battleground for science and mysticism, dance and music, life and death.
