From open windows, through doors cracked open just far enough. If you stop for a moment at a bus stop, prick up your ears in a café, in the checkout line at the supermarket, on a bench in the park, in the post office or in the waiting room at the dentist's. If you listen carefully, you'll hear it: the unique symphony of real-life voices. They sing of life, raw, authentic, warm, unpolished, unvarnished and in full voice.
Uit volle borst is the urban project by All Arias. We are creating a production together with inhabitants from the three festival cities – Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent. Each city will contribute one act. Together, the three acts will form a single, polyphonic story. After all, what better way to feel the resonance of the city than through the voices of its inhabitants?
Writer, director and actor Maja Westerveld is creating Uit volle borst together with city dwellers. She is a member of Abattoir Fermé, a company that produces a mix of music, theatre, visual creations, dance, textual theatre and opera. The company has built up a unique experience in the creation of productions for, by and with a wide audience, regardless of age or culture.
