In the period 1775-1800, several members of the Austrian nobility had a private Harmonie for enlivening social events and banquets. Mozart wrote several works for such a wind ensemble, which, unlike our contemporary wind orchestras, had a dozen musicians without flutes.
The elaborate and enchanting Serenade, KV 361/370a, nicknamed the 'Gran Partita', is without a doubt the most influential work for wind players ever. An ideal opportunity to experience our wind instruments solo.
