The open-air concert gives you a taste of what is on the programme next season, driven by the theme of ‘desire’.
From the lust for boundless pleasure in Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny to the searing passion of Tristan und Isolde, to the hopeless web of romantic intrigue in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro... The 2022-'23 season at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen is all about desire. The soloists, chorus and orchestra of the house present a dazzling Tour d'Horizon of our opera and dance programming in a relaxed open-air concert. The ideal warm-up for the season on Antwerp's Sint-Jansplein. In the evening our colleagues from the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra will take over the square from us for a concert with swinging jazz riffs, southern rhythms and now and then a wave of wonderful lyricism.
