Dance in our workshops

Could you use a friendly push to dance or move creatively? Our dancers offer a safe place where you can develop your style with others. Experience is not required.
After the successful editions of the last two years, the dancers from the ballet company of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen will give a series of dance workshops in April and May 2024 that you can register for free. They invite you on an inspiring journey of dance and music in our studios. The goal? To encourage creativity and connection and provide a safe place for self-development. This season, they take inspiration from Ombra, Alain Platel's production that is also on our programme this year. Together with choir members, dancers, and orchestra, he is creating a new performance centred on the theme of encounter.
You don't need professional dance or ballet experience; everyone is welcome to participate. There are workshops available for individuals aged 14-18 years and for those aged 18 and older. Participation is free of charge. The workshops will be taught in English, but translation to Dutch is available.

REGISTER
Register using the form at the bottom of this page. The intention is that you register for the whole series as they build on each other. It is very important to us that you actually show up for every session. For the continuity of the lessons and out of respect for the other participants and dancers. When registering, please indicate each date you will attend. Exceptions are possible - please contact vonk@operaballet.be for this.
Those who have attended every time will receive a ticket for one of our ballet performances. You will receive more information about that later.
