Teun van Roosmalen was born in Uden, Netherlands in 1987. He studied at the the Dance Department of the Royal Conservatoire, the Hague from 1998 until 2007. When he graduated he started as a trainee at the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam where he danced pieces such as La Bayadère, Giselle and Don Quixote, as well as works by Balanchine, Krzysztof Pastor and Rudi van Dantzig. In 2010 he joined the Scottish Ballet in Glasgow where he performed pieces including Cinderella, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty and works by Ashley Page, Sir Frederick Ashton and Jorma Elo. Three years later he joined the Royal Ballet of Flanders, where he was promoted to half-soloist in 2016.
