Extras for The Rape of Lucretia
For this opera directed by Carlos Wagner, we are looking for 6 male extras (aged 18-60), preferably living in Ghent and the surrounding area.
The Rape of Lucretia (B.Britten) is a co-production between the International Opera Academy (IOA) and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen (OBV). Under the label of the VONK initiative of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, the young artists of the IOA are given a professional platform in which to confront their artistic abilities with the public. For this chamber opera, collaboration is taking place with the established ensemble SPECTRA under the musical direction of Filip Rathé.
The extras will play wounded (bedridden) soldiers who are cared for by nurses in an improvised hospital. We encourage applications from people who have a connection to the stage and are fond of the art form of opera. As an extra, you will be part of an international group of young singers and pianists and will be guided by a professional artistic team and the committed people of the IOA and OBV.
Availability is required during the week of May 5 (at Minard in Ghent) and June 5 (at 't Eilandje in Antwerp) - see dates below.
If available during the weeks of April 10 or 17, you will be asked to rehearse once at the International Opera Academy in Ghent (Bijlokesite).
