Ruth Little

Ruth Little is theater- en dansdramaturge, docente en auteur. Ze doceerde Engelse literatuur aan de Universiteit van Sydney en was literair manager bij Griffin Theatre, Out of Joint, Soho Theatre en de Royal Court, evenals artistiek medewerkster bij het Young Vic in Londen. Van 2010 tot 2020 werkte ze als dramaturge voor de Akram Khan Company. Voordien was Little associate director van het internationale kunstklimaatveranderingsgezelschap Cape Farewell, programmaleidster voor Dramaturgy for Dance bij Banff Centre en festival navigator voor Perth Festival. Daarnaast werkte ze als dramaturge voor vele bekroonde theater- en danswerken, waaronder Jez Butterworths Jerusalem; Akram Khans Gnosis, Vertical Road, DESH, iTMOi, XENOS, Until the Lions, Outwitting the Devil, Dust, Giselle en Creature; Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s en Nick Caves Shell Shock en Garry Stewarts South. Little heeft ook heel wat publicaties op haar naam staan, zoals de boeken The Young Vic Book (Methuen), The Royal Court Theatre Inside Out, Introduction to Plays: Royal Court 2000-2010 (Methuen) en artikelen zoals ‘Art, Place, Climate: Situated Ethics’ in Art and Ethics (Springer), ‘Testimony: Art for the Sake of Place’ (Elemental: An Arts and Ecology Reader). Little was ook te horen als voice-over voor de zesdelige Sky Arts-serie Why Do We Dance? met Akram Khan. Momenteel is ze artistiek medewerkster bij Sydney Theatre Company.
